Compaction Simulation Forum San Francisco 2025

Fresh from the Compaction Simulation Forum in San Francisco we are excited to get back in the laboratory with new ideas.

The Merlin team had the great opportunity to join fellow scientists, academics and pharmaceutical manufacturers at the Compaction Simulation Forum which was held in San Francisco, California from the 9th to the 11th of June.

The event brought together scientists passionate in compaction simulation and tablet testing.  The workshop event was on the Gilead campus, and we heard experiences of using compaction simulation in regulatory filings and the work behind the creation of a new chapter in the USP. The new general chapter <1245> is devoted to practical aspects of compaction simulation and is currently in pre-approval so there is still time to send comments in.

Charlotte from Merlin brought two posters. There were lots of interesting discussions as the delegates attended the poster event. One poster looked at simulating extended dwell tooling. Merlin Powder Characterisation were pleased to sponsor the conference dinner. Congratulations to Musab Osman and Ewelina Randall who won the poster prizes for academia and Industry announced during dinner.

We are excited to hear that next year’s event will be held in Lisbon, Portugal.  If you are interested in getting involved in the planning, the organisers are looking for session chairs so get in touch.
